Getting Ready for the Maiden Voyage

I am so excited that in a few short weeks the kids and I, along with our very good family friends (actually they are more like family) are going on a short trip just a little ways down the road. So I have been making sure the lil' Lemondrop is ready to go. The most exciting purchase so far is the bedding. The kids will be sleeping in individual fleece sleep sacs on top of a mattress pad and sheet. This being the first time to use her I am not sure that I have everything I need. To me this is much different than tent camping. So anything you can think of as a must have while camping please leave me a comment and let me know! For now here are a few pics of the bedding.

Doesn't it look inviting??

**post edit: my apologies if you read this earlier, as it was late and my mind was a bit preoccupied I didn't proofread before I hit the publish button..........

It is so lemondrop cute!!! I am so excited for you! It is so fun and yes it is nothing like tent camping...you're going to love it. I will try to think of things you might need. It does take a few trips to figure out all that you need. It's always good to have extra flip flops(good for those trips to the bathroom and showering in), lots of plastic garbage bags(kitchen size-for garbage, wet clothes, dirty clothes, everything), can opener(are you bringing canned goods?),lighter, tiny hand push lights are helpful, flashlights, my hubby says Starbucks instant coffee, hot cocoa, tea, mini donuts. Do you have a meal plan? I will tell you what we have found easy peasy is grilled cheese, canned soups or raviolis, hot dogs, mac-n-cheese, tuna, crackers and cheese, instant oatmeal, eggs, turkey bacon.

That is so. cute! I'm lovin' it. I've found a little baby powder goes a long way when you're camping ;) I take a small laundry basket for dirty clothes so they don't have to go back into suitcases. Start saving all those hotel shampoo samples - they're great to keep in the camper. Gotta have a tiny broom and dustpan. I always have a small fan or space heater depending on the season - even with heat in the trailer. And, the biggest must have is margarita makins'. Have fun. Take some pics.

I think you have a bathroom, but I can't remember. I keep rubber gloves in the trailer for "cleaning things out." Not a pretty job but someone's gotta do it. And they might as well use disposable gloves to do it in. Also, purell for after said cleaning.

Yay! The day is finally coming around! You'd better take tons and tons of pictures! I can't wait to see everything!!! The most important thing to remember is a can opener!!! Lol. I had all my meals planned out but forgot that one thing and they were all ruined!!! Also, take a notepad to write down things you need for the next trip. No matter how prepared I thought I was, I missed tons of stuff! More importantly, have fun!!!
