Just Popping In

Hi All!! We have had a busy week. My brother and his family came on Sunday and left this morning. That was on the heels of getting back from the fair. I have some photos to post of some of the things we did but I haven't uploaded them yet. I am pooped and am hunkering down for a quiet evening watching a movie in bed. My guy had to go on a business trip this week so I can watch what ever girly thing I want to without complaint. I am on a big mission organization to get things ready in the school room. We are all excited to start the new school year. For those of you who want to know what I purchased for their curriculum, we decided on My Fathers World Kindergarten and Adventures in My Fathers World. I will be writing more about it later. Hope you all have had a great week. And because I can't post without a photo, this is a pic of my kids and my girlfriends kids at the zoo last week. FYI Avery has a swim top on from playing in the water section, I would never usually let her tummy show....

Homeschool Fair

I had an amazing experience the past three days. My hubby and I went to the homeschool convention. The vender area was a bit intimidating the first night, but I soon got over it. We were able to have an up close look at some curriculum I had been considering and ended up purchasing. We were able to hear some great speakers and it was nice to be around people that get why we do what we do.

The best part of the weekend?! Spending quality time with my man and my great friends.

We had diner out both nights and had such a blast cutting up with these folks.

I am so blessed to have such awesome people in my life that encourage me and "get" me. These are some wonderful couples and I thank the Lord for them all the time.

While I was getting to spend quality time with hubby and friends an equally awesome friend (who unfortunately sends her kids to government school, are you feeling guilty yet S, is it working?!) kept my kids for me. Because we don't live close to my family these people have become my family. I appreciate you Sonya, keeping my kids so I could go to the fair with peace of mind is beyond words. I never worried once how they were because I think some times they love you more than me. I'm okay with that, cause I love you too, so I get it.

**Side note, if you want to see a face of pure joy, please go visit my Aunt Donnas blog. She got to meet her grandson after 5 weeks of being on pins and needles to hold him. The look on her face is priceless. I am so happy for her, and I might add that my cousin has one good looking baby!

The Best Day EVER

That is how my kids described today. We took a day off today from our normal lives and hit the beach. I wanted to take the kids before the public schools got out and the beaches get packed. We had a great day. I helped the kids build a sand castle and catch sand flees. And although we try to go to the beach at least once a week through the summer, for some reason today was the "best ever" (then again they say that every day even if I let them run the vacuum).

You know it's been a good day when you look like this 2 minutes after pulling out of the parking lot.

Friends I Have Made

Last week a nice little yellow package showed up in my mail box. It was from non other than Delena. Inside I found a fabulous RV cookbook and Camping Log book. Both will be treasured accessories in my Beach Bungalow(aka Trailer). It is incredible to think that some one from the other side of the US knows me enough to know I would love these items. Delena you are awesome thank you so much for your kindness.

So last week I went on a cleaning rampage of the TOY ROOM. Did you ever read that Berenstain Bears book The Messy Room? If not you really need to, you see I had a Mama Bear moment when I walked into that room and stepped on something for the last time. In one afternoon I got rid of enough toys/games/garbage to fill a 40 gallon garbage bag. Then the next day I went back through what I kept and got rid of more. Needless to say it takes about 5 minutes to clean up the toy room now. One of the boxes that I separated was some of my husbands old toys. I had put them in a Sterilite for him to put up in his shed. After a year of being carelessly thrown about the room they all of the sudden seemed like something fun to play with. Of course now that they were neat and tidy in a box. Well I told the boys that they were not to take a single toy out of the box to play with. So this is what I happened upon Sat morning:

I couldn't yell at him cause he listened to what I said. He didn't take a thing out to play with, instead he got in to play with it. Darn these kids learn fast.......
