Can't Wait

So I just purchased my labels for my clothes. One step closer to getting my stuff listed. I have been working on some things the last couple of days. Samples to find what I want to list besides my pillowcase dresses. Now to design my hang tags and figure out my packaging. I am so excited.......

For a friend

I made this for a friends birthday. Got the shirt off the clearance rack for $1.48, can't beat that8)

One for my son

I made this guy for my oldest son. I've named him Sir Archiebald the Knight. Can't wait to see what adventures they go on together. I am having so much fun making these dolls my mind is already spinning about what the next one will look like. My dd really wants one for herself.

My First Atempt

So after reading a post from houseonhillroad about Erins home made gifts, and following her link to wee wonderfuls, I made my first Olive doll. I am sending it to my niece as a surprise and I am getting ready to make an Archie for my oldest son. I will post pictures of him when I get him finished. It was a lot of fun putting her together and seeing her face emerge, putting the bottom on was a bit of a challenge. Not all that bad in the end.

Hello 2008......

The pork and sauerkraut are in the crock pot and most of the decorations are down. I still need to get to the tree today. Christmas was good with the exception of both the little guys getting ear infections. Two nights spent at the ER and a morning at the Drs they finally both got their antibiotics and are much better now.

It has been a low key holiday and with it being our first spent at the house and not going home to visit my parents I thought it would be sad. To tell the truth it was nice. I have made a few resolutions with the new year and what we will do differently for Christmas 2008. All in all it has been a good year, and I look forward to what this year has to hold.

Now to get to sewing and my new passion, finally decorating my house. Remodeling is done with the exception of that last 10% that everyone is guilty of putting off. I am ready to make this house feel like a home so there will be posts to follow about that journey too.......

HAPPY NEW YEAR

the dress......

i made Avery a dress for her school play. well i say a dress but really it was more a shirt/dress with black velvet pants underneath to dress it up. tried to put ruffles on the cuffs but didn't have time seeing as i waited until the day before to throw it together. i just LOVE this scottie dog material i had found, and the red contrast ruffle says HO HO HO all over it. and of course i had to give her curls, she loved them and didn't want me to comb them out!!! she did such a great job with her lines, i was so shocked she did it since she plays shy with me most of the time...

Is it really almost Christmas?

i can hardly believe it is almost Christmas. there is still so much for us to do. Avery has her kindergarten play on wednesday and she has a speaking part. we are so proud of her, she has done so well this first part of the year. i can hardly believe my little girl is growing so fast. i want to make her out fit for the program and i guess you could say i am procrastinating. i will be working on it tonight.

we just got our hardwood floors in on tuesday and what a difference it makes in the down stairs. i painted the dining room a great color that we got from a home show we went to in the fall. i can't wait for all the trim work to be done so that i can concentrate on decorating finally and getting things where they truly belong it only took two and a half years ;P

i hope to post some pics soon of the work and the kids. getting excited to list some of my spring items on my shop, just waiting until after the holidays. if i don't get a chance to write before then Merry Christmas i hope everyone has a wonderful season and remember what it is truly about....
