Gifted

This is the finished product of the previous post photo. It was wrapped, addressed and mailed off this morning to a friend of mine from high school. He welcomed baby Nora six weeks ago and I am so happy for him and his wife.

Remembering

Last evening my Grandma went home to be with the Lord. The past week has been a rough one for my mom and family. I was with my Grandma quite a bit as a kid. She and my Grandpa stayed with us for a while in a camper out back. For a while every day over the summer my Grandma and I would play 500 rummy while my Grandpa was at work. She would have her programs on in the back ground and we would sit and play for hours. She never just let me win, we played for real. She also taught me how to crochet, at first all I did was a single crochet and then I kind of forgot about the whole thing. About 9 years ago I decided to give it a try again, but to learn to read the instructions and do a bit more difficult things. So I called my Grandma up and a few days later a "How to Crochet" book showed up in my mail box. I followed those pictures and directions until I became an expert. The pattern I am doing above is one that my Grandma sent me in a stack of vintage knit/crochet books. I have made this baby sweater so many times I've lost count. As I sat in the van this week and crocheted while Avery was at guitar lessons, I thought of my Grandma and how a lot of my memories are of her holding a crochet hook. I hope to some day give that same memory to my kids and grandkids. I'm gonna miss her..........

All Done

Thank you all for your prayers and thoughts! It sure did help, we didn't have any tears from either one of us and he woke from surgery in a pleasant sleepy mood. Now we will have to take care of the open wound for the next few weeks and after the scab falls off we are hoping his eye will be good as new.

Prayer Request

This little guy will be going in for an eye procedure at 9:10am tomorrow. Do you see that nasty looking bump under his eye?! Well it is called a chalazion (infected, clogged oil gland) and tomorrow morning they will put him to sleep and scrape out the infection and then inject it with some steroid shots to help keep it from coming back. This momma has to go at it alone, and so of course I am a bit nervous. I am at peace knowing that the Lord will be keeping him safe. I just ask for prayer specifically that the Dr.s hands are steady, that Tripp is peaceful while sleeping, that his recovery is fast, and that I have the strength to hold it together on my own. And if you wouldn't mind, please send one up for my husband as he was sent on a business trip unexpectedly. Thank you so much my faithful prayer warriors!!

Where did the summer go?

Is it just me or did the summer just fly by?! How can we be in September already???? Well here is one high light of our summer, Keegan learning to ride without training wheels. He loves riding his bike now and let me tell you he is hard to keep up with. He has his little legs going a mile a minute, it is quite funny to watch!
