EGGS, PESTO and things...

It has been awhile since I wrote. I have been busy around the house and yard. LOVING my chickens, that by the way have started laying eggs!!! The joy I get from going out there in the morning to collect the egg (only one that we call Hattie is laying yet) is like a kid on Christmas morning. It is ridiculous really. My dh and I race to see who can get it first on the weekend!!

So my garden is doing great. I have gotten sweet peas that #2 can't get enough of and my tomatoes are looking great. I should be harvesting them this week along with my carrots. I also have a great batch of Basil and Parsley going in my herb bed. My other herbs never came up, guess the seeds were bad. I wasn't sure what I was going to do with the abundance of basil and parsley, then I came across a blog that shared a recipe for pesto sauce. I will post the link later. It turned out awesome and it is so gratifying to eat something you planted from seed and watched grow. I am now compelled to build a greenhouse for my winter months and I look forward to seeing what I can make grow.

My next big news is that I finally leaped and decided to pull #1 out of public school and home school her. I have been toying with the idea of home schooling since before I had kids. I felt like the Good Lord had been leading me in that direction for quite awhile and realized that i needed to obey him. I can't wait to see where this takes us. I can't screw her up that bad right?!
